Hello everyone!

We are getting really excited about participating in this event! Our Trails are:

Thursday Trail Run: Alpine Loop (Engineer and Cinnamon Passes) at 07:30 AM
Friday Trail Run: Imogene Pass to Ophir Pass at 07:50 AM
Saturday Trail Run: Black Bear Photo Trail at 09:30 AM

I'm not 100% certain that our Tundra will make it on Black Bear Pass. From watching youtube videos, I think the Tundra's wheels are too far apart and we will be rolling off the side of the mountain to our death. If we only had the Mars Rover landing equipment we would be set. Any veteran participants want to weigh-in on that? Will and I will be talking with the Trail Leaders when we get to Ouray. I am really nervous about this particular trail. In fact, if you would be willing to talk "live" with me, I would appreciate that, so that if we need to change our selection for Saturday, we can still do that. Please send me a private message, if you are willing to talk!

As for lunch time, should we be planning to pack a lunch for Alpine Loop and Imogene Pass or do we "stop" for lunch in town that the trail goes thru? I didn't see anything and want to be sure that we are prepared!

Thanks!
Connie
Connie,

I'm one of the co-directors of the event. We would appreciate it if you could switch trails and keep the Tundra off of Black Bear. It is extremely tight for a truck of that size and we don't like to put that stress on our trail leaders. I can help move you to another trail run.

Does your truck have a lift for more clearance ?

I instruct all Alpine Loop trail leaders to stop for lunch in Lake City. With that being said I've heard stories of leaders not stopping for whatever reason. It is always a good idea to carry some drinks and snacks in the truck regardless of what the lunch plans are.

Re: Post your trails and times for Summit X

Bob Brown spotted a Tundra down BB I think two years ago. He stated it was one of the most stressful things he has ever done. He also said no more Tundras on BB. I agree as a leader I would refuse to allow a big rig on BB when I'm leading the trail. I think it's important to note here that trail leaders have the authority to not allow anyone on their trail whom they deem unsuitable.
