@CRAW ,
the Moab Diner, which happens to have the best breakfast in town (my opinion).
Love the Diner. I go there for breakfast every day... except Sunday, when they are closed.

My wife gets out and walks, sometimes she'll jog the shelf roads. She doesn't like to feel trapped inside the vehicle but she's fine when she is out and under control of herself instead of having to go where the vehicle goes.

Which route do you take out west? I've done Rt 80, 70, and 40. Rt 80 is the most direct path but the most boring of the three. Do you take another route? Recommend any sites to stop along the way to CO? I usually take a bee-line to Nebraska and from there take my time. I plan to take a slower pace this time around.

Re: Moab before the Summit - 2019 Edition

Just an FYI, I will NOT be in Moab before the Summit.

I have a series of crazy deadlines to meet (Indiana to Denver tomorrow and then install next week, back to Indiana to work for a week then back to Denver to install week before the Summit). I just can't see making a third round trip, in as many weeks, all the way back to Indiana to get my new-but-still-stock 4Runner soooooo I'll be leaving my cargo trailer in Denver and will drive my 22ft long F350 diesel to the Summit. YES, you heard that correctly.

Have a great time and be careful out there.

Well right on time a customer informs me last week that they want a major project done on the 5th, yea right. My response was Ďnah thatís probably not gonna work you need to push it upí so with any luck Iíll be able to catch a flight out on the 1st complete the project in about 3 hours and fly back in. Wat da fawk? Itís like they expect me to do work whilst prepping for the 2019 Roadtrip!

I’ve done 70 and 80 multiple times and decided I prefer 70. Because I’m usually stopping off at @Iconic_ fab HQ in Kansas to bolt on a newly fabricated part, and also it’s a drirect shot and easy drive to Moab from there. And I can avoid the mess around Chicago Worst part for us living in the NE is getting out of the NE Nebraska has the fascinating ancient sand dunes I’ve been meaning to stop at. And some amazing swimming beaches with lighthouses and historic inns along the Great Lakes. Here’s one I found in Westfield NY right off the NY Throughway - beautiful clear water

And yes, that’s a cat lol
