Re: Trail gear vs OEM Sliders

So, the most recommend by price/quality are the PURE FJ CRUISER SLIDERS ?

Pure FJ Standard Duty Sliders [PURE-2004-SD-KT] - $355.00 : Pure FJ Cruiser Accessories, Parts and Accessories for your Toyota FJ Cruiser

thanks!

Correct, rebranded versions of the All-Pro standard duty sliders. Prices are almost the same these days, for a while I thought the Pure were cheaper.

My Build: WHOOP '12

Special thanks to the following vendors:
-Ricochet Offroad
-Metal-Tech
-TRDparts4U
-URD
-Brave Motorsports
-FJNewb

Pure is cheaper when they hold promotions. They were once like $315 shipped...then maybe a little more on their most recent sale.

I believe I paid $285 for mine - shipped to SoCal from Tejas - a few years back. Great slider, great price!

Actually, All-Pro drop shipped and they had just moved to MT.

Re: Trail gear vs OEM Sliders

I have the Pure on my truck, when installed i had some blocks made to angle the sliders down more so they can be used as a step. Sure helps when I am washing the roof!
Thinking of taking mine off and selling them though.

Re: Trail gear vs OEM Sliders

From searching the discussion I thought the metal tech 4x4 sliders were consider the best option? so would the Pure rank lower? the price is much cheaper for the Pure.

Sliders were next on my list to get.

thanks
Frank

Cheapest does not equate to best. The old adage "You get what you pay for" rings true here.
But Metal Tech does make some descent sliders, I like the plates on top on this model.

Most FJ's I've seen when I'm offroad seem to run the PureFJ sliders, which if you can wait, you can get for $315 shipped when they're on sale, otherwise they are $355 plus $85 shipping which is $440.

Pure FJ Standard Duty Sliders [PURE-2004-SD-KT] - $355.00 : Pure FJ Cruiser Accessories, Parts and Accessories for your Toyota FJ Cruiser

But if you want to go hard core and get the best of the best (worth it) Buy a pair of Demellos.

Re: Trail gear vs OEM Sliders

thanks. Demello look real nice. Do not mean to hijack OP thread but Budget wise the Pure look good. my only concern was having a slider that could also function as a step. My wife is a tad 'challenged' so i would worry with her slipping on the slider or getting her foot stuck. She is one of those people who can trip will walking on carpeted floor, walk into a desk edge or wall. She claims the floor monster grabs her foot...

i just an email from MT with a coupon code - MJKIM for this weekend ..tempting

yeah the OPOR offered by Metal Tech with the 15% off coupon seem like a good deal and provide a stepping surface. Not sure what freight will be to you in Louisiana. so that could make a difference. I always find the free freight to be the best deal since they are so heavy. I bought Shrockworks sliders during a group buy last year for my FJ and daughter's 4Runner. The GB discount (15%) was roughly equal to the combined shipping cost.
