This thread sat idle for 13 months. Upon re-reading I see that I had an opinion on the transfer that differs from the one I now have.

I wish the AT had the same transfer case as the MT, full time 4WD in high range with a Torsen limited slip center differential, and locked center for both high and low range.

I didn't buy my automatic tranny FJ Cruiser for gas mileage, but because of the convenience of not having to manually shift all the time. Furthermore, having "on-demand" power to both the front and rear axle in patchy slippery conditions is a benefit that current 2WD mode AT don't have.
