Question on Big wheel jacks

Any thoughts on the 3 ton big wheel jack instead of a hilift jack. Had hilift but was thinking about this for use at home and on the trail. It looks much safer. The only feature I would lose is the ability to use it as a come along to winch from the rear of my truck. It would have to be stored inside truck.

Re: Question on Big wheel jacks

That jack is insane. I want one now. I've never used a hilift. Always just brought my floor jack. Sort of a pain to store inside. That 3 ton would probably be bigger. That's probably one of the main drawbacks, having to store inside the vehicle.

Yeah. I saw it and feel the same way. I tried to think of situations where this could not be used (other than come along winch for rear) and didn’t see any downsides. The one upside if I got a flat tire on a shelf road this might be safer if the car is in an uphill or downhill road compared to the hi-lift. Also if there is limited room on the side of the FJ on a shelf road.

Purchased the jack and car mount today. I will post pictures when I get around to mounting it. Was pricey, think it’s worth it since I solo. I am retired, many of my friends are not. Will probably change to flat board in back instead of drawers. I carry my tools in the drawers and can probably get away with a tool bag. Need the extra space for the mount, the tilt of the rear seat and height of the drawers takes away space on top for mounting. Since I have the jack and metal tech rear bumper, looking at designing a mount for my pull pal on the metal tech.
