Couldn't disagree more.
I've got 50+ hours on the track in my 911 and have pushed my 328xi on the street pretty hard.
The AWD will get you comfortable quicker but once you're ready for some serious speed work you'll wish you didn't have it.
The extra weight slows turn in and when you try to slide the car at all the front wheels have a mind of their own because of the driver nannies.
Ask someone who has driven in anger at Watkins Glen about how a 328xi would handle "the toe"
