Interesting product.
I have an older spot device but have been thinking of upgrading to a device with texting.
This product is another to to put in my pile of contenders..

I read an article somewhere where SPOTS or InReach have been reported as not working when needed to. 2 units were sent back for testing after failing when needed. If I find it again, I'll post it up.

When I researched my spot device(2013), I had run across several articles like that as well. Not knowing how many people actually use the device in an emergency, it would be hard to determine if this is an issue or if it is operator error...

I am thinking though that the technology of the newer devices have to be better and more reliable. I had used mine so that the wife could track my location when I was out in the wilds as well as sending OK messages.
