The Toyota dealer in Alaska seems to refuse to budge below sticker price, likely because they don't need to compete directly with any other Toyota dealerships up here.

Haven't purchased yet. But it's funny you asked- I put in a order for a quicksand 2012 with CQ and UR # 2 as my main options at Yokem on the 7th of Nov. Seems there are only 3 of that type available in the whole five states gulf region, and I really didn't want to drive to Houston to purchase one.

Anyways might take three months to get it ( boooo ). I told them hopefully the trail teams doesnt come out around then or else I might be renegotiating. Wanted the first rig for 200- 300 over invoice...

I would love to purchase one , but not sure if I have the patience to wait for it's arrival to dealerships- whenever that's supposed to be. None of the salespeople I talk to seem to know either..

Re: So, what is everyone paying for their 2012's?

I got the dealer to give me an extra $1K on my trade-in and another $700 off sticker and also tint my front 2 windows for an extra $50 (they actually charge $499 for the tint which is ridiculously high!) . So in essence, I got $1700 off sticker. They told me their mark up on all FJ's is $2k.

I also negotiated the interest rate from 4.99 to 2.1. I told them I was walking out the door at 4.99 and also was calling my credit union at the same time and the interest rate miraculously came down.

Re: So, what is everyone paying for their 2012's?

You wanna hear something really really really sad?

Back in 2008/09 I picked up a brand new FJ Cruiser for $23k. It had a sticker price of $31k (no joke). The market was bad, and there were heavy discounts. The discount from the manufacturer was as high as $5k, depending on your region.

2-3 years later...sold the FJ....now I want one again

Hard to swallow spending upwards to $30k now....talk about sellers remorse
