I do see a couple of Fjs advertised for 17-19k on yahoo autos slc. I feel really lucky to have found my 07 fj with 41k toyota certified for 18500 and if you're patient you might score too.Mine was sitting on the dealers lot for 3 months, they were desperate, and it is also a manual that does detract a lot of buyers. it's also blue which is my first choice but not for everyone. I think expecting to pay less than 19k for a low mile fj will be very difficult..... Good luck and let us know how search goes!

You aren't kidding. I just looked at my dealer's site and they have an '07 FJ with somewhere between 37 & 47 thousand miles for $25,500. Ouch.

(Not sure on miles as the text says 37K+ and the photo shows 46K+)
I paid 27'800 for both my 2007's FJ's in the spring of 2006.... ^^^ That's crazy pricing....

But...but....but it's certified. I paid $31,000 for mine new in Aug of '06.

Go ahead, skin it! Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens...

yea the certified certainly jacks up the price and is probably unnecessary. I would have paid 18500 from a private seller with no warranty so basically got that for free and hope I dont need to use it. Every certified Toyota in SLC is advertised for at least 23k and most have 70-80 miles the limit the be "certified! They do hold tight on pricing too! The dealer basically told me it adds 2-3k to the price .

Find a fj 4x4 in Florida or Texas from a dealer or fsbo where they arent as required or desired, and don't have so many locations to put the FJ to the test like Moab, my backyard, and countless BLM roads and trails. Luckily mine was from California where at least there's no salt on the roads.

Re: 2007 FJ with 100k miles?

Yea I am keeping my eyes open to see what comes along. I am in the Chicago area, so there are 71 used FJs within 100 miles. I might just save my money and buy a discounted 2011. If these things hold their value that well it's a no lose situation. Purchase a 2011 for $30k, drive it for 5 years (I only drive about 5k miles a year anyway) and at the end of the warranty sell it for $21-25k. It's damn near an investment compared to buying any other vehicle.

I also have been searching nationwide for a FSBO because I figured that a private party sale will save me on Illinois and Chicago taxes, but it seems that the dealers actually have lower prices than the private sellers when comparing the exact same year, miles, options, etc.

yea I'm not sure you walk out at 30k now. I think you're looking at 32 or more with a well optioned fj. Still a great buy, and at 5k miles a year, if kept clean and accident free, a desired color, manual, and you can get probably 22-23k I'd think in 5 years, especially since production is super limited now as compared to 07-09. That is if gas isn't in the double-digits!

sorry I didn't catch the 2011 part. 30k is doable for sure. Maybe there's a 2010 out there that needs to be de-virginized!
