Re: More responses???

Remember - the basics (mechanical) for both FJ's is the same.

The thing to consider is what is important to you - colour, mods, miles, price and so on.

sounds like either way they are 2 decent trucks and you cant go wrong.

After Monday and Tuesday even the calender says WTF

Re: More responses???

Thanks for all the great advice, my gut tells me go with the one with all the extras even though it has 10K more miles, I am not sure the trails team option is worth it considering it it stock only (although I will say the red does look good)

Re: Need purchase help

2012 Red TT with 84K and all stock for $25,900 seems like a good deal to me...all depending on the condition. But, you have to like red ...and I do. I believe this is the only color TT that was not offered in a regular FJ.

If they are comparable condition and both well maintained I would pay the $1900 more for the newer lower mileage 2012 TT. And, I also think the 2010 Sandstorm TT is great for a color.

My only other advice is to stop screwing around and make a decision. I see quite a few people posting about FJs, motorcycles etc. asking about if this is a good deal....what about that one....should i look further, etc. By the time they are done soliciting the internet for their opinions it gets sold out from under them. Remember these forums arent private. Anybody across the world can see what your posting and probably search and find the vehicle.

Good luck with your decision.

Re: Need purchase help

You didn't mention CarFax, AutoChek; or service warranty history? Would want the VIN to check BOTH, as sometimes one will pick up something the other hasn't. Most owners will have service done at a dealer, at least while warranty is in effect and you want to examine this closely! Was service done "on time" regarding time and mileage and particularly have full major services been done at 30, 60; and 90k? I would be paying more attention to these issues than color or 4wd equipment! Realize these things are important, too!

If you like the off road extra's and would find them either a preference or "acceptable", you'd save a fair amount of money taking the one with the "optiona". and if service and recalls performed as they should have been the slightly higher mileage wouldn't bother me.
As one commented that red 2012 TT was only offered as a color for any trim level only in 12TT and a personal favorite of mine. For me it would be tough choice between my 11 Army Green TT and red 12TT? Being a vet the quasi military look of my 11 slightly edges it out.

IMHO soundness and condition for me would come first! Probably take it to a dealer for most thorough CPO inspection, provided you've decided you want it and agreed upon price? Further, I'd have as part of bargain that any major repair cost deducted from price.
Inspection would cost you about $125 and well worth it for peace of mind! You should pay for it and be one to receive report, so dealer is working for you, not seller!

Good Luck!

Re: Need purchase help

When I was searching for my FJ, I have come across some FJs with accident record, suspicious service history or worst no service up until 30k km mileage. I managed to trace these through the VIN.
