After thinking and reading about this gun, that's really the deal killer for me. If you want unlimited ammo forever, then I think you need to be thinking about a crossbow.
You don't have a cross bow?

Actually, the lithium batteries will last for something like 10,000 shots and the nature of lithium is that the batteries will not deplete unless used. So, a few boxes of batteries would not be a big deal. Lithium is not required....just recommended.

As far as bullets go...any soft lead .357 with out lubrication can be used...exactly the kind that you could make at home.

Personally, I would like to see a less expensive, less electronic version with the same amount of Ummph!

A .357 high-power air rifle is a cool idea, I wouldn't mind having one. I wonder though if you could use regular .357 pistol/carbine bullets instead of the purpose-made air rifle ones in a pinch? .
There was something in the video where he mentioned being able to use, I think, .38 bullets and .357 also. It was hard to hear some of it with the gunfire next to them.

Go ahead, skin it! Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens...

I'll ride in on a sunny day, Sing you a song, steal your heart away Like a cowboy Hang my hat like I'm here for awhile Kick off my boots and drive you wild Like a cowboy Well baby you know I can't stay long You wake up, I'll be gone Until then I'll hold on Like a cowboy.

Re: Is this the Ultimate Survival Rifle?

If it would take a .357, then it would definitely take a 38SPL too. There is some interchangeability between the two when hand loading, the major factor being that some bullets are too long to chamber when seated in the other case.

Cool idea nonetheless. That Henry Arms looks like a sweet SHTF/Survival rifle..

That is a high price for a high tech weapon. You can make your own powder or as someone else stated just get a crossbow.

I expend tremendous amounts of energy and time merely to be normal.

Re: Is this the Ultimate Survival Rifle?

The way I see it... if I wanted a lower power rifle for a survival situation, a .22 with two cases (10,000 rounds) of ammo would last a long time.

Weight would be roughly the same as you still need to carry your .357 air rifle pellets. Not to mention the hand pump and/or Co2 tank!

Cost would be the same as well. You can pick up 5000 rounds of .22 bulk ammo for around $150 (less if you shop around). Im sure that .357 air rifle ammo aint that cheap by a long shot.

Re: Is this the Ultimate Survival Rifle?

Depends on the 'cause' of the need for survival. If there was anything like an EMP, it appears that this would be rendered useless. Very cool gun though. Like the looks and functionality of the M6 as well.
