Unique Job Offers

Since I'm in the LE industry and security, I've been posting job offers I've been getting and have been reposting them in the Gun Threads.

If you qualify for these unique jobs, they do pay rather well. You may have to get permission or what not to view the Off Off Topic area but in any case, good luck and I hope you find work.

Re: Unique Job Offers

Here's an example of the fun job opportunities you're missing. You have to get access to the "Off-Off" topic area. I have about 40 postings of gigs like this;

Potential applicants are strongly urged to read the entire vacancy announcement to ensure they meet all of the requirements for this position, and fully understand the special circumstances involving a career in the Foreign Service before applying. All applicants must be U.S. citizens and at least 20 years old to apply and at least 21 years of age to be appointed.

Please visit our forums if you have any questions, or to search for answers regarding the selection process. The forums can be found under Connect on the careers.state.gov website.

We appreciate your interest in a career with the U.S. Department of State.

These look like jobs I used to see from Dyncorp. They do pay well. Locations are questionable

Re: Unique Job Offers

My Dad worked for the Dept of State.
We mainly lived in Latin America and did a tour in Cairo, where I graduated from High School. The next year my Dad retired after working 20 yrs with the Government.
It's a great life working and living overseas. I wouldn't change a thing as a child of a foreign service brat, lol

Re: Unique Job Offers

Hmmmmmm

Any jobs for a jack of all trades? I have tons of small to med amounts of experience in lots of different useless things. But, I'm great at math, mechanics, can see 3-D in my head and draw it (if it can be drawn with a straight edge ), data manipulation, databases, programming (prefer line code, not too keen on OO). I've done BS from spreadsheets to telephony misc junk, project mgmt, software design/testing/troubleshooting, fixing whiny users' crap, drawing building layouts with cubicle layouts before and after building floods (yes it flooded more than once ), IVR, GUI integration with mainframe, COBOL/CICS/JAVA and a few that were wacky and unknown. I guess I just don't see value in it all, but I'm sure its there somewhere. Oh, and btw, graduated with honors in the midst of working full time and taking care of 4 dying parents. Does being an ambidextrous shooter help? The only people I've shot with that have out-shot me are the instructors
Why no specialization? Nothing has been able to maintain my interest
