P0420/P0430 - Can I Get A Witness?

Howdy!

Would someone be so kind as to review the provided logs and confirm what needs to be replaced? 2007 4x4 Automatic with 132k miles. CEL and every other light are lit up.

I appreciate your time,

Troy

Keep it simple, forget data and buy this: https://www.urdusa.com/urd-rear-o2-s...-dual-channel/

Re: P0420/P0430 - Can I Get A Witness?

FinnL, have you had good luck with the URD simulator?

I'm adding my last comment to this post since I'm fed up with this greed non-sense.

Just as an FYI, the ECU's are just plain to sensitive for the Cat efficiency fail codes P0420 and P0430. You can have as little as a 5% restriction with the cat working fine and throw these codes.

I am also plagued with these cat codes in a Sienna and just sick and tired of this problem.

The other issue is the scam sucking Toyota blood sucking leaches disabling the VSC and traction control. That pisses me off the most since it's a safety device that Toyota is using as bait to scam you back to them to sink thousands of dollars in repairs. Everyone needs to place a safety complaint with the NHTSA and ask that a recall is done. Most states don't require emissions testing so all of us shouldn't be held hostage with the 4 lights glaring in our face and driving an unsafe vehicle for greed. Since the consumer protection is such a joke my only alternative is to try the O2 simulator method. Has anyone had any luck with the URD simulators?

I have not used those, but I have URDís UCon, it simulates the similar way the O2 sensors. No codes, no other lights even with empty cats.

I have heard that the URD O2 simulators work fine in these older 1GR-FE engines, newer Tacomas (with air pump) are problematic.

I agree with J57, it is a real hazard when this occurs and one is off road. Some mgt person made this b.s. decision.

FinnJ: for the URD it would be just that one set for both rear sensors? the info on the site is not clear. thanks for any info.

My 07 (used) has 115,300 on it now and i got the complete OEM set of sensors from rockauto just to be on the safe side. After slowly getting out of the woods, while driving out i would stop and remove the block battery cable so it would clear the error so i would have full traction. with the I stopped at Autozone for them to do the readout and sure enough it said the right rear sensor. the counter person suggested the cat cleaner @25 to see if that would help. bought a can and got down to 1/4 tank. added it in and ran it on the interstate where the speed limit is 85 to heat things up. ran it until it i got the fuel low light then gassed up with premium from shell and did the reset. so far with 400 miles no dam lights coming on. i did wash all the clay/mud from the FJ as well, not sure if that was any issue. will talk with the local shop when i bring it in for servicing.

I have used ScanGaugeII because of that too. Easy to erase codes even while driving.

There is two plug sides per sensor (male/female). You can see four of them, so this works for both. No other needs, just plug&play.

thanks Finn, going to get a scan gauge 2, that sure beats stopping to disconnect the battery to clear the code.
