Best way to add hp

Looking for the best upgrades for horse power. I have the urd s/c and the Sprint booster on my list. Any recommendations on exhaust or anything else I missed

Honestly....keep the FJ clean. It's amazing how fast weight adds up with all the junk in the trunk so to speak. Speaking of weight...keep an eye on it when adding parts. Aftermarket crap has weight.

Add "gears". Doesn't add horsepower but it will make the utilization of your horsepower more effective at lower speeds. Gear the truck too high and you lose top-end speed, so it's a trade-off.

The "Sprint Booster" is a good purchase. Doesn't add extra HP but it will increase acceleration. Toyota purposely wrote the ECM's software to provide slow acceleration so they could advertise increased MPG in city driving. The Spring Booster is plug-and-play, connecting behind your accelerator pedal and sends a modified signal to the ECM. It has a small controller that you can mount on the dash to change modes from Stock, Sport, and Race. I found Race mode to be to aggressive. I run mine in Sport mode then switch to Stock when in heavy traffic.

Either go with the boost, or simply the $800 tune from raptor to get you a decent bump. But I can totally understand if you want the added performance of boost but you'll be paying for it that's for sure. Headers and y pipe might get you a little more also.

Would the raptor supercharger be better than the urd? Only thing I saw with the raptor is it says it needs an upgraded exhaust system with it.

Re: Best way to add hp

Can someone point to dyno graphs of these superchargers? The only one I found was for the Magnuson SC but it does not show any data points below 3000rpm. I want to see improvements, if any, below 3000RPM for when I'm rock crawling and doing low speed stuff.

Re: Best way to add hp

I'm a bit surprised at this topic. Both of my FJs, the 2007 and my current 2014, are excellent on acceleration. Even up-hill! I have never felt llke I didn't have enough power.
