re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

I didn't do anything to it today, but I ordered this today....

https://titanfueltanks.com/shop/tita...ngler-4040187/
https://titanfueltanks.com/shop/tita...gler-4040187/#

...and got a killer discount on it with the agreement that I would take pictures and show them how I modified it to fit an FJ Cruiser! I also got free shipping and I will post the install in here too, so stay tuned for an update.

Here's an update:

Installed some 7 inch Auxbeam lights on the front:

and an AOB switch for the lights + I put in a much needed garage door opener button :-):

How did you do the garage door opener? That's cool!

There's a bit of soldering involved, but it's really simple:
- take apart your garage remote and solder a couple switch wires, I used Ridge111's post and used an old remote I had for the opener.

I mounted the opener under the glovebox with some double-sided tape, it's been there just over 2 years and still works great (outperforms our homelink on other vehicles).

The recent change was to swap my goofy looking radio shack switch to the AOB momentary garage opener switch.

If you're really hardcore and want the remote to be 12v powered, Yoshiboy21 has a wiring solution with resistors and regulators that's even slicker. I'm doing that mod in the future once I've hunted down the parts.

That's cool, thanks! It's strange that we've had this Cruiser for so long now and I'm just now making upgrades. I'm way behind the times...been wheeling my SAS Tacoma for so long, that I hadn't even considered messing with the FJ until I got rid of the Tacoma in January.

If your remote is 3v, you can use a voltage drop like this the Diatone 3.3V 2A Voltage Regulator

Wow, thanks for the tip FPVr! I've used GetFPV for quad parts and never even thought about them for this mod. Nice find, thank you.

Re-installed the 4" ventlock on the rear window and popped open the freedom windows. Probably won't close them again until November.

re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

Very cool indeed. I am just out of spots to put buttons in my FJ.

Next to steering wheel
1. Heated Mirror
2. RSCA Off

Bottom Console
Top Row
1. Trac OFF
2. RR Diff Lock
3. A-Trac
4. Sub
Bottom Row
1. Fog Lights
2. AC Inv
3. Parking sensor
4. empty for now but already have button for future Driving Lights when I figure what I want to go with.

Wife's FJ on the other hand has the Crawl Control with the Locker and A-trac on the ceiling so lots of spots left in hers to fill.
