I took out the films in the mirror lights and fitted them with Philips 921 bright white vision LEDs back-up lights. I was supposed to swap them with the reserve, but they aren?t much brighter than the stock halogens, so there we have it. No modifications needed other than taking out the films.

Passenger: stock with film; Driver: Philips without film.

Interesting. I tried a whole host of different style LED's and decided they were all useless so went back to the stock halogens. How do you remove the 'film' is this just a coating on the inside of the lens?

There is a thread of course, haha. I just took out the bulb socket and used a drywall coarse thread bolt to thread trough the diffuser and then pulled it out. It takes some effort. It helps to work around the diffuser with a flat head screwdriver breaking it loose from the housing first.

Here is a thread..

Installed my AFE 2.5" stainless Hi-Tuck. LOVE IT. Very mild idle tone, until you romp on it. No droning on the highway either. Took about 2 hours to install including a trip to Autozone for gaskets/hangars/spring bolts (which apparently don't come with the kit).

Very good choice! I have the same. No loss in the power band and not noisy. I don't feel bad for my passengers riding with me like some 3" exhausts I've had previously.

My only gripe with the exhaust is after hitting mud the first few trips, the steel turned oxidized brown. I probably would have sprayed it with hightemp paint had I not rushed the install.

I painted my SS exhaust with hi temp red paint - twice now - and it burns off leaving a mangy mottled surface...so maybe no paint is best!
