Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

I don't post much but i'm all sorts of giddy about this... Joined the 37" (well, 36.5ish) tire crew! Really had no intentions as they require an arse load of work to fit... But they fit with only rubbing on the bumper at full lock... Now when its flexy that'll be a whole new beast, but they're on and ready to mall crawl! Now I need to find a 5th wheel which has proven difficult...

Still need new lugs, anyone have any recommendations? I am running spacers if that means anything...

Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

Last week, in preparation for a run down Lockhart Basin/Canyon, I mounted a 4 gallon rotopax fuel container on a roof rack crossbar using clamps I came across in the GX470 scene. Fits perfectly across the back of the roof rack and it held up well after 100 miles of rough off road use. It only wobbles a tiny bit with the container filled with fuel; if I used a second crossbar, that would make it super solid and prevent any movement. Either way, I'm happy with it, plus having the peace of mind of an extra 1/4 tank of fuel for those longer trips makes me feel better.

If anyone is interested in the crossbar clamps you can find them here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/302706582645

Those clamps look great! Would have done that if Id known about them years ago when I mounted my Rotopax. I did actually use the 2-crossmember technique you mentioned, and its been working perfectly for a long time, and on rough trails. Just sandwiched them between two steel plates with the Rotopax mount bolted to the top plate. Hope you have a fabulous time in Moab and please let me know if the Lockhart Basin Trail is, in fact, so eroded that all vehicles will encounter damage (as one member recently stated). Id really like to make sure as I would like to see a run happen there this July (Moab B4 Summit - you coming?).
