Got the drawers “finished” enough to put them into use. Eventually I’ll decide on carpet or AstroTurf. Maybe a giant piece of hook and loop material.

Now I have room to finish my other project. I started this earlier this year then the FJ happened.

Installed the power rear tailgate window kit on my wife’s 2013 all white FJ. The kit was purchased from ChiTown 4x4 and is on sale right now.

Great instructions and quality kit. Took about 4 hours but what a difference it makes when the front windows are open.

The only thing I never liked about the FJ was the inability of the side rear windows to open. With this kit, it makes it more tolerable and it looks cool when opening/closing.

Replaced my rear dome light assembly which had a broken clip. I put a new 36 chip LED in while I was at it and went ahead and installed the same lights in the front dome light. Wow what a difference!

Cleaned my interior, it needed it. Also installed a quick fist on my rear springtail plate to hold my battery jumper cables.

Gave it a bath. It was pretty dusty and spotted from the showers. Plus I have family coming in tomorrow and want it looking good. I may do some cleaning on the interior today, then hit it with some 303.

Finally got around to cleaning up the engine bay. Next, most likely dump trans fluid all over the place plumbing the cooler!

Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

Living in the North and having nice things means an eternal battle with corrosion and prevention.

KINGS in the rear had a tough winter and were starting to corrode I opted for the following:

Siphon blasting pot
Flexible cutting board as a spray guard
Mask
Muffs - dang compressor is loud
5'er just in case I need to scrap a little

Media - glass beads

Took a little to get the air pressure and volume to where I needed it, gave it a test hit to see how it would work and and I am pleased with the result. You can see where the glass bead has removed the corrosion from the shock body, fittings and I also gave the area around the mount a quick hit.

I'm gonna need more glass bead to do this right.

After I will hit the body and fittings with a number of coats of clear and the may install the fancy KING stickers on the shock bodies (facing forward) for additional protection.

Only downside.......glass beads everywhere.

I'm jealous! I paid $360 last year, and it's coming up again in October. I kinda wanted to get a custom plate -one of the black and yellow ones-, but that would add another $50 annually, and the state takes enough of my income as it is.

Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

Drove about 350 miles today and yesterday. Then used a garden hose to clean the mud out of my radiator from earlier this year during fun times with @DubstepPear . Honestly surprised it hadn't caused problems yet, the heat is starting to set in for the summer here. Preparation for Moab!

I have an ecosystem growing on my driveway now!
