Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

I tore up a rear fender flare. I had backed my trailer in behind the fence. As I was driving out through the gate I didn't see that a bolt stuck out ~3". It put a scratch in the flare, then hooked it and tore a hole in it. I will remove it tomorrow and use a heat gun to get it back in the proper shape. Then use some super plastic filler/cement. Used flares are about $100. That's reserved for other things.

Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

I removed the damaged fender flare. I tried some 2 part stuff with a powder and a liquid. It didn't work. I have fabricated some sheetmetal that I will epoxy in tomorrow, and also some pop rivets. I am going to try some ABS glue with ABS shavings mixed in as a filler where I tapered the tear. We'll see.

Side note.. I had to go to Lowes for some stuff. My dog went too. So many people asked to pet her. She was wearing her "pet me" vest. Also the 4 parking spaces near the entrance are labeled as Veteran Parking Only. Thanks Lowes.

When you are able to find a single OEM flare for a good price, let me know where! I need a front left.

The cheapest that I saw was on Ebay for $100 or so. Like I have said, that's money for the next handheld lead projector.

Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

Last camping trip, we got annoyed with the rear-coat hooks... so this weekend I replaced them with some anchors I had left over from another project (and cut to size a backing)

Nice hooks.

I got the Atoto a6 Pro installed and working great. This is the Toyota specific model and it fits perfect.
Will have to go back in for the steering wheel controll when parts show up.

Re: What did you do TO your FJ Cruiser TODAY?

Finally installed my DIY dual battery setup that I've been working on for, well, too long. Includes voltage boost hack shown elsewhere in this forum. Relocated the air pump and power steering fluid reservoir. Working great! Sorry, no pics yet.
