Have a plan that is slowly gaining speed for some nice new parts. If everything goes as planned I will have said parts by the weekend.

got it stuck!

wheeling alone (I know! I gave MYSELF enough sh!t for this already)

at 3am-4am (I'm night shift so I'm up all night even on my days off)

on a unmapped temp access road (trying to explain to the tow where I am is gonna be a PIA)

all mud with a nasty ditch thrown in just for fun

it was raining and T-storming pretty good here so I decided to take a little tour and turned down this laneway which was all mud and puddles and thought "cool 4HI time"

about a min down the lane and the right side does a side slip into the ditch which is all reeds and pusssywillow marsh type terrain

after many attempts I'm beginning to think about having to call for a tow and put the word out to my facebook group ... but its early morning and I'm not expecting much

and as is often the way ... within the next couple of attempts I rethink my efforts and try something different and WHALLA!! I'm outta the muck and headed for home!

pic is only for an example ... I was same position but different terrain (my ditch was running water on top of muck/marsh/reeds/mud)

any suggestions for best self rescue in this scenario? smartass expected but be constructive as well ok?
g'day,
Looks tricky.... hard to gauge without being there....
but an exhaust jack might help.... to level the vehicle...not sure about the running creek tho'
once level you could build up under the tyres etc..... and use maxtrax maybe to reverse out .....
what ever happens ..expect some damage....
ouch...

cheers
Baz

Can't say I've ever been on 2 wheels in an automobile! Unless you count jumping my highschool girlfriends rav4. I'm sure during takeoff or landing there was a split second of only 2 wheels touching. Lol

I'm sure your girlfriend was happy.
Time to get out wheeling, they say on the forums if you haven't had a couple wheels off the ground you are a mall crawler. jk

here's a quick clip I shot after work ... its shaky and crappy but it kinda shows the rut I was in ... even the next day I couldn't walk on top while trying to film this ... just my body weight was causing me to sink while filming

It was full of running water at the time (we had heavy rain all day)

my sliders took most of the abuse on the low side and my Buds took took the rest

the wide spot at the end of the clip is where I kept digging a hole with the tires spinning trying to climb out

Man that's a tough one... Glad you had skids and sliders!!

Anyways, I think that a shovel, exhaust jack, and matracks/treds would have been the best.

Jack up the fj under the rock slider. Pile mud/dirt under the wheel, put the traction device on top. I could be wrong though, and maybe none of it would help.
Time to repaint...
Cheers,
Matt

Did an over-nighter with some local cruisers. Jon is a great guide. Took us on a 200 mile off-road expedition. Fun time.
