I've been slowly checking off trails in the funtreks book, so they're all in there. Silver crack is up on the rim, just before heading down towards Merrimack and Monitor Buttes. The easy way across it is on the far right side, but if you stay about 100-200 feet left you can get some sweet poser shots! Here's a quick vid of silver crack in the 80 from last month: https://www.instagram.com/p/BiIPvwugiMd/

I'm not sure if we'll do Moab before summit yet, it looks like I'm getting roped into a wedding the weekend before which will cut my departure time a couple days shorter than I had hoped. But maybe...
Ok now I remember - didnít realize it had a name and that it was such a cool spot to play! Thanks for the videos, and Iím hoping youíll be making it to Moab B4 Summit

Now that the swelling has gone down and I can see out of both eyes...

I took the pooch out for a run in the desert. She had lots of fun. Then I tested out a new 9mm load. The last two times I had started on the low side of the powder charge and things didnít function. Now I have it.

She is tired now and ready for her morning nap.

Have to pick up someone from LA Union Station at 4:00 am. And while waiting, took a snapshot of my rig using my phone. Feels great seeing my rig in different places from different perspective. I bet the rest feel the same too.

Re: What did you do WITH your FJ today, Take 2...

I drove off-road for the first time (a couple days ago). I got stuck in a creek, the gate keeper got me! My husband says the picture doesn't do it justice, he had to give me a tiny tug to get me out. If I went forward my bumper was buried in mud and if I reversed my bumper got buried in mud. We didn't get to do the whole thing because the second creek was much, much wider and deeper than usual. I tried to walk across it to see how deep/if we should risk it but I wasn't even half way and it was already up to my chest- I'm 5'11"!

I had a blast and I cannot wait 10 more days when I go camping up in PA and spend a couple days wheeling at Rauch Creek

You can see me hanging out the window cheering after I got tugged out.

Re: What did you do WITH your FJ today, Take 2...

I took a drive to Durango Colorado to have lunch with an old friend. The group of friends were going to ride the train, but it is closed due to a wildfire north of town towards Silverton. There was a Chinook water bomber flying over.

Highway 550 is closed. My friend had to divert to Telluride then towards Cortez and across.

I took my dog and she had a great time splashing in the river and got to sit with us outside at the BBQ joint.

I saw that on the news this weekend. @FJX2000 was working on the train and got stuck in Silverton for a day or two. Curious to know if they determined the cause yet.

Yes last Friday was quite the adventure. Spent quite a few hours up in Silverton when our trains weren't allowed to head down the mountain towards Durango due to fires. It was a full day of dealing with the situation and helping passengers. The buses didn't arrive and leave with everyone until 10:30 that night (and the trains arrive around noon) so it was a full day of Silverton!

No official word of how the fire started has been determined but they cancelled the trains just in case and they aren't running the steam locomotives until further notice. I am out of the job temporarily! But of all places to get trapped, Silverton wasn't too bad!

(Funny thing, the guy sitting next to me in both these photos also drives an FJ!)

I expected to see a lot more people out on the trails down in Moab over the long holiday weekend; I almost didn't even go out of fear of it being over-crowded... where was everyone??
We got our runs in Thursday! Everyone was camping out by the river.. From what I could tell, most of the campgrounds were taken up by sunset when we were done on the Hells Revenge. Other than a few dirt bikes and utvs, it was pretty quiet out there.

Took her shopping for new shoes.

The ol' girl is a little picky, she should have it figured out soon.
