First Test Drive

Well I've had money down on it for nearly a year, and I finally got to drive it this afternoon.
The Good news:
Blind spot and rearward vision, not as bad as I expected.
The Bad news:
the sticker on the FJ I drove at Carson Toyota reads "Dealer markup $6,000.00"

Was talking to Camelback Toyota in phoenix and they have exactly what I want, then sales guy says manager just told him they were selling $3k over MSRP. Hung up.

Greed is good according to Gordon Gecko but he went off to enjoy Government housing. Hopefully the gouger folks will get stuck with plenty of em as it looks like FJ's are hitting the payment everywhere. I am going almost a thousand miles for mine but I like the way they are treating me.

I guess they didn't have exactly what you wanted.

Hung up? If I were a serious MSRP buyer, I wouldn't have let the sales manager's flunky deter me from going in to talk to him.
Actually, I am not a serious buyer cuz I have one on order in Montana. But if I could get the right deal here I would do it.

I promised the salesguy in Montana some flyfishing on our private lake, maybe even a couple of nights at our lodge if the deal is right so I still think I will do better there!

Really just want a good look at one because I am still considering Taco cuz the rear windows roll down. My kids swear they don't care, but I think they will eventually.

And I don't really want to deal with a dealer that is marking them up. I can understand why they are trying it, but then they need to understand why they lost me as a potential customer. If they would gouge me on that, who knows what else they would gouge me on that I might not catch.
