What should i do and how?

Okay guys, the FJ bug has bitten. I am borderline obsessed with my new truck. The problem/blessing I have is most the mods are already done!! I have some things to clean up and add but I don't want to make it "trashy". I also want to know how to maybe get started in some shows. Also need idea on other mods I can gradually work towards. Although most will be interior. Thanks for the feedback/advice in advance.

Re: What should i do and how?

G'Day,
The first thing I would do is list everything already on the vehicle, and figure out if its the look/style you want. To have perspective you need to do a lot of research on what else is available. Best way to do that is look at all the other members build pages and start compiling a list of likes.....
Sounds like you want a show truck, to compete with..... so not an off road get it dirty truck ?
Make it unique and special is a personal thing .... research .... do not take a poll of what everyone else likes ..whats your vision ?
then build accordingly... but a word of caution, 90% of the rigs on here are off road rigs, not show vehicles, so a lot of mods may not suit you ... and you may get some flak if you bling up your rig, but don't worry about them, each to his own......
but first up.....research...then more research. Followed by more research .....
The same applies if you do want an off road dirty truck...... that will get you home...

Good luck,
Cheers
Baz

Not really bling or show. I live way out in the country. Having an off road truck is a necessity sometimes haha. Just would like a nice blend of function and show. Not looking into really fancy shows or anything. I'm not even into it enough to know if there are shows for just good looking off road trucks. I'm definitely not wanting to "pimp my ride" haha.
bazross and FJ Cruiser Matt like this.

Re: What should i do and how?

G'day ,
Well it still applies..research is the key...
I know the feeling of needing to do it all at once, but take your time if you can, do the research, figure out what you want, what you will use it for, and make a plan.
This way you don't do everything twice, and spend twice as much....
You can easily drop 20 k on bits.... But you don't have to spend that much to make your rig ... Your rig.

Cheers
Baz
