What about doing the opposite and blacking that whole section out to look like the roof is floating?

You mean the huge c pillar? I bet that would look awesome! I thought I saw someone do it a few months ago with a wrap.

Ive done it on 2 fjs. Just be aware that the paint may not look so great under the tape. My first FJ was green and it was not painted well under the tape and I had to re-install the tape. On my current FJ it worked out well.
Did you have to remove anything to reinstall the tape? I've ordered new piece but not sure how to go about replacing.

Thanks!

Honestly, I donít remember. It was so long ago on my ex wifeís FJ. Iím pretty sure the front doors were pretty straight forward but I canít remember whT I did on the back. And unfortunately I just sold my FJ so I donít have one to look at for reference. Sorry for zero help.

Re: Has Anyone Taken The Tape Off The Doors?

No problem, appreciate the reply. Going camping this weekend so I'm taking the part to a body shop. As they explained it to me you have to remove the interior door panel to remove the rear window as the tape goes under it and the lower weather strip. Almost 5hrs of labor. $236 in my area. Getting it done for $190. Asked for a break since it isn't an insurance job and the book hours don't have to be strictly followed.
