Last year around this time I wanted to upgrade my air compressor. Couldn't decide between an onboard system or a portable unit. Went portable so it could be used in my wife's 4Runner along with my FJ. Soon after spending a small fortune for a Viair 450P, the wife traded in her 4Runner and bought an Outback. Then a couple months after that, I left the compressor neatly packed in it's bag on the side of the road after airing up one afternoon.

I just bought the ARB single air compressor. I'll hard mount it above the wheel well in the rear on the driver side and never worry about airing up again.
Exactly the same unit and placement I'm using. Works fine.

That's not bad if we can knock them out that quick. My skill level is pretty minimal. Will also be installing SPC UCA's, so I know that will add a little time to the install. If we can get it knocked out in a day, and I can get an alignment either later that day, or the next, then I'll be happy
I did it after work one evening with the uppers. Only remove the upper ballpoint and uca.

I don't think this kit came with the swaybar relocation kit. I'm pretty sure it has the diff drop, and I think bump stop drop brackets, but I think that's it. The only time restrictions are based around the fact I'll be driving 6 hours each way to get it done, and need to make it back in time for work!
Appreciate the tips! I'm really stoked to get it installed. Then I'll have the "Only trains upper body, always skips leg day" look until the tires are worn down enough to be worth replacing. Then comes more saving and more spending for some 33's Could buy them next, but my 265's still have lots of life left in them, and I'd rather upgrade my sliders and throw some skids on first.
If you went with the same Type of lift as Dirty Ricky that is kinda the Assistant Boss so it does not come with a sway bar relocate . The 2.5 Boss comes with the sway bar relocate since they are Bigger and the sway bar would hit . ( it still does just a tiny bit still )

Just checked my order and it doesn't look like I have the sway bar relocate bracket. I did upgrade to the 2.5's up front. They didn't say anything about that being an issue, but I didn't think to ask either. I can call them first thing Monday and see, and order that if I'll need it. I wasn't aware that there was a clearance concern with the 2.5's. Will they still install and function without the bracket? Or is that pretty essential to install at the same time?

Edit: Disregard, it looks like the upgraded coilovers *SHOULD* come with the sway bar relocation brackets. It's not listed on my order, but looking at the individual item for the 2.5's, they list that they include the brackets.
Firemedic831 and isancho like this.

2011 Iceberg AT 4x4. Bought at 35k miles. Rear locker, ATRAC, Warrior Rack, Roofnest RTT, LED's, Toytec Boss Ultimate 3" lift with 2.5" coilovers, and lots more in the works.

I thought so too, if they donít show up with them, then call toytec. Their customer service is pretty awesome.

My discos are the same design. The nut that secures the lower heim joint to the sway bar is what needs checking, because the swaybar is perfectly positioned as a guillotine for the outer boot. When you remove the clip and wheel in rough terrain there is a great deal of additional flex and force which puts pressure on the nut...and will try to loosen.
Do you mind sending me a picture of your lower helm joint. Want to make sure I did put it on right and didn't have to add anything extra. Also found one of the nuts loose. Not too bad. Thinking of running a second nut letting it be a smidge loose and locking the nuts together.

Good youíre checking...keep doing that! At one point I even drilled a hole in the threaded ends of lower heims and added cotter pins which worked great. Next experimenting with different thread sizes/nuts, and chromoly heims
First pic of my disco shows it unclipped, and metal sleeve up at top of the rod. Subsequent pics Iím using HDPE instead of metal...less rattling And yes, those are boots on the heim joints which I determined to not be a huge benefit in preventing road salt/sand from chewing up the heims. Now I just remove the discos for winter and replace with OE links.
