Please, bring the LC 70 to the US

Toyota's most rugged Land Cruiser is back in Japan - US News

I hope Toyota will do the same, and offer the Land Cruiser 70 as a limited series model in the US.

The Land Cruiser 200 sells at a rate of 200-300 per month and Toyota does not seem to be planning to discontinue it any time soon. A 200 cars per month volume of LC 70s brought to US from Japan would sell easily and make many of us extremely happy.

I doubt it, between CAFE, EPA, DOT and a host of other alphabet agencies and their regulations the 70 is just a pipe dream for 25 years.

After Monday and Tuesday even the calender says WTF

We're not getting an LC70. The ones going to Japan are only being pulled from ongoing production for other parts of the world.

For importing, I'm not sure what state you live in, but it can make a huge difference on if you can import or not.

For Colorado, you can import a vehicle newer than 25 years if it meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and meets emissions testing. The NHTSA even offers a list of "Approved non-confirming vehicles" that can be imported. I have attached a snipped from the file below.

Import regulations are Federal so State does not matter.

But, if you don't pass emissions in your state you cannot register it. Right?
