Re: Hood Vent

Back in the 60's & 70's I had all sorts of cars with ram/cowl induction, open scoops and even stacks. Never had a problem with driving in the rain. Now some of the antics I've seen here with water over the hood would be a problem. Ron

Re: Hood Vent

I have some vents on my hood - someone (you know who you are ) said these look like a/c vents

Granted, they kinda do. But they do the job.

Re: Hood Vent

The reason the vent is where its at is due to nothing of real value beneath it. I really cant vent the other side due to the abundance of electrical. No issues with rain at all. Because the vents are facing backward it acts like a vacumn during driving, and you really can feel the heat radiate out from it at stop. The understructure of the hood doesn't lend itself to placing the vent in to many places. As a matter of fact that vent is about as large as you could put in without a lot of fabrication. I found the vent on Ebay for $23 dollars and with some sanding and powder coating it turned out to be a neat working piece of equipment. The vent came off of an old Land Cruiser.
