Re: Independent REAR suspension

IMHO, I don't think the text conveys emotion and both of you are reacting impulsively.

As to the topic, they each have their own place. However, majority of the world doesn't off road. Powers that be makes the final decision not the consumers.

Dude, that's bull**** and you know it. This thread was in specific response to my comments in the thread about SAS.

You've got an agenda.....just admit it. There's nothing wrong with having one.

I have one. I'll admit it. It's to keep more manufacturers from building completely un-trail worthy ****wagons that couldn't wheel their way out of a paper bag.

Let's think of some factory IRS examples shall we?....CRV. Ya, that's bad ass. I see them on trails all the time.

LR3....oops, seen one on the DIRT road to Martinez Canyon once. They turned around at the rocky section that I've seen stock Suburbans go through.

Ridgeline....yep, on the Rubicon all the time.

Newer Ford Exploder.....yes, a trail eating machine!

What exactly is the FJ "being used for"? From what I see, they are being used as trail/expedition rigs.....by far more people here than those that are even pre-running. If IRS was so hot....why wouldn't have these people bought a Ridgeline or LR3 instead?

Sean
Uh.....you left out the H1

It's not "provoking"....it's correcting erroneous posts. You and many others may not care for the style of my writing, but you certainly can't argue the truthfulness....though you seem to try b/c you don't know WTF you're talking about in the first place.

To give an example of BICYCLES to try and prove a point is a lame attempt at shifting focus.

Pretending that somehow all other 4wheeling is SOOOO different than rockcrawling that the technology can't possibly be applicable is as laughable as it is blatantly ignorant of the facts.

The fact is: out of all of the motorized truck based 4wheeling out there, rockcrawling is hardest on equipment. It's one of the better test beds for determining what will hold up and what will not and it is WHOLLY relevant to trail riding in the US (the majority of users of this site and the US marketed FJC).

But whatever, I'm not posting to change your mind.....I'm trying to help out anyone who may not know you don't know what you're talking about.

Sean

EDIT**** and PS.....just b/c something I post contradicts your comments, doesn't mean it's "angry".

Again, this is a written media....hard to get the correct meaning out of it. Go back and read what I said in my first post to this thread. While it was contradictory to your uninformed decision asking for a factory IRS system in a 4x4, it wasn't intended to be angry. I just oppose your position for the reasons stated.
That's MY job.

Re: Independent REAR suspension

I read this thread from first post to last post and it seems that this is as heated a topic as premium vs regular unleaded

I think there were a lot of good points, but I have to take the side of "I'd much rather have a SFA than an IRS. I didn't buy the FJ (which isn't a car) for ride comfort or ameneties like blue tooth and leather heated seats. I bought it drive over [email protected] and haul stuff.

x2, i think if toyota REALLY wanted to give Jeep a run for its money they would have included a SFA. Which, considering they have the 4runner as a IFS offroad capable SUV for those that would like the nicer ride, i don't know why they didn't (besides money to outfit it with the axle).
I couldn't agree more! I would love a SFA on my FJ, I didn't buy it for "ride comfort".

Difference is: I didn't go to a site where it's primarily European wheelers and then talk **** about their respective countries.
I agree with this.

When you enjoy provoking everybody you shouldn't be so sensitive when you get a little something back. The thing is being a specialist in rock crawlers does not make you a genius on everything else.
Remember this "Id like to tell toyota" thread was supposed to be flame free and that the FJ is a car, not a religion.
1) I really didn't see Sean K provoking anyone, he was simply giving an opinion
2) The FJ is most definately not a car
