I know this is an old thread, and I'm sorry for necroposting, but anyone see any reason why the vertical allen bolts that hold the main body of the rack to the mounts couldn't be swapped out for some kind of QD solution that would allow you to remove the entire basket when not needed?

I'm looking into this FYI. I also have the same question. So far I have come up with a bolt and knob solution, but this would reduce the number of bolts holding the rack on from 8 to only 4 bolts.

I'm also looking at a solution to raise and lower the rack with a pulley system from the rafters in my garage.
