Greetings

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well and I hope your FJ's are running as expected (mine is). I joined this site/forum because I have a 2008 FJ (4x4), and I need a few parts to replace (all plastic parts) and I'm wondering where is the best site I can visit. Dealership sites are expensive, I don't like shoping for car parts on Amazon or Ebay and it seems like the sites I've been finding are nothing more than Toyota resellers. Thanks for any advice you can send my way.

Toyota is the ultimate source for all these parts, there really isn't any way around that. It can be a Toyota dealership selling them at full price. It can be a Toyota parts reseller website -- which is really just a dealership website selling them at wholesale prices to online customers -- for a little cheaper. It can be a Toyota dealership doing the same thing but now on Amazon or EBay. Or it can be an individual who bought their truck, took off that very specific part that you need, and either listed it for sale here or also on EBay.

Point is, parts are expensive -- especially plastic body parts -- that probably aren't shared in common with any other Toyota either previously or currently being sold.

Can you get specific on which parts you need? If it's front/rear bumper related, you can typically find people who take these off to put on aftermarket bumpers. Some parts don't have aftermarket versions, which means a junk yard or finding them as cheaply as you can online.

Either way, we need specifics to be of more help. There is no super secret CheapToyotaParts.com website that we all use but never talk about.

Welcome Earthling!
There's no real super secret source for parts other than a pick and pull. Maybe.

Re: Greetings

Welcome from WA!

I will second the advice from @Lee44 about Amazon. They've been pretty great for me.

The only issue I had was with an antenna that just didn't fit. The real problem there was me. I bought it, received it, then put it in the garage for a few months. By the time I got around to trying to install it, the 30-day refund/exchange policy had expired. I didn't feel like fighting them on it over 10 bucks, so I let it go.

They are pretty liberal about refunds though. I've had a few things that I've returned over the years and never had an argument from them. So, as in the case of the antenna above, I try to play fair with them too.

Anyway, welcome to the forum! Post up some pics of your rig and tell us about it and yourself, and post pics. We like pics

Re: Greetings

Greetings from VT! I switched from Amazon to eBay with great success I typically get my part number, run it on a variety of online Toyota parts sites, get the best quote and give my local dealership the chance to price match....they always do Whatís great about that is the return process - free!
