Hello all from God's country

Hello all from Gods country. NE Oklahoma have a 2008 FJ. I have had it about 6 months now and truth be told I don't know how I lived before this. My wife says I am better looking, I've lost 25 lbs. & Retired from my job as a Professional Firefighter at the ripe old age of 48. I haven't been this happy since I left Okinawa, Japan back in '92. On the good side of both knees replaced first in 2016 second in 2018. L5 to S1 fusion in lower back. Thank you very much 500 lbs naked wet patients that love to find themselves in a 4 ft. by 4 ft. room laying flat on the floor. You say why naked and wet well we don't want to talk about the alternative call where let's just say they're brown and crusty. Did I say how happy I am to be retired from the fire service. Well I AM!! Loved the job was time to go. Broke body, Broke mind not a great receipt for happy living. So here I am living the FJ life and loving every minute.
P.S. I like things that go boom especially the Sig, H&K & SBE2 kind I like cold snowy mornings filled with 15Ibs Honkers raining from the sky.
I like my beer how I swore I would never be again after receiving my DD214 from the greatest gun club in the world, ”Semper FI” wet & cold yes How i like my beer not ”ME” 4 years in the Corps. & 23 Fighting Fire and the general stupidity of mankind. I prefer Creature comforts I.E. Cold AC, good Gortex, dry warm clothing and cold beer.
One wife ”Toye” of 26 years, I think, and one son Thomas ”Gage” 16 that will be the death of me and my proudest accomplishment & one spoiled rotten Golden Retriever ”Milo” 1.5 years that is the most handsome devil you’ve ever seen and man can he beg for table scraps. Well enough about me thanks for letting me into your lives.

That's got to be one of the best intro posts I have ever read.

Thanks to you and your family for your service to the nation.

Thanks for the welcome. Hope everyone had a great day. I went all day without catching on fire ”Happens more than you would think” or another humans bodily fluid on me. Man I love retirement. Bored to tears, but loving every minute.

Re: Hello all from God's country

Ditto on Moonpie's observation....great intro and welcome aboard!! In reference to God's Country....that's a great song too....except I can't quite figure out the "sittin' back in the forty on a muddy rivers side" lyric. Seems to mean a lot of things for many different people. But, because you are from there, maybe you can shed some light on that for me? 1940 Ford pickup? Not sure. I know you weren't referencing the song with your sig, just thought I'd throw that out there.

Good to hear you like things that go Boom! Hence my Sig name!
