1W LED Mirror Lights

This is an Amber 1W LED wedge type light that is available from Ultra Bright Leds.

It has a 120 wide angle beam, so it fills the lens area very well.

These 1W Amber LED's really stand out at night and are very visible during the daytime.

About $20 U.S. for the pair, including shipping from the U.K.

This is a simple plug-n-play modification - no cutting required.

See night photo comparing these to Polarg L-02 Lens Type 5W Light Bulb. They are much brighter.

Re: 1W LED Mirror Lights

I tried the 12 composite LEDs at first, but they only shine straight out, and not wide, so the area of light is only about the size of a nickel, so they do not light up the full lens area.

These have a 120 beam width, so they do light up the entire lens. They are also 1W, so they are super bright (~30 lumens), like the 1W LED tactical flashlights.

You can see they are visible in daylight, and look like fog lights at night. I'm very happy with the results.

The total price was about $20 for the pair, including postage from the UK (takes about a week).

Time to change: ~10 minutes. All you need is a large flat blade screwdriver (put some tape over the end). Push the mirror back at the top, and insert the screwdriver half way up the bottom center, then twist 90. The mirror should just pop off. Pull down to remove mirror. Once you've done it a few times, it's very easy. Works best in warm weather, as the plastic clips are hard and brittle in the cold.

I put in amber LEDs from Autozone a while back. I must say I like the ones you got better too. I like the sticker on your windshield too, I got one on my rear window.

Re: 1W LED Mirror Lights

I looked at a similar product advertised on ebay, selling cheaper, but they were shipping out of Hong Kong, and that was a bit of a turn off, especially on ebay.

This company is in the UK and they are manufacturers of the products as well.

What's impressive about these LEDS is that you can see them very well in the daytime. My stock light bulbs were barely visible, and pretty much useless.

I drive a lot in dense mountain fog, and these are very visible in the fog.

Re: 1W LED Mirror Lights

I also tried Polarg L-02 Amber 5W Lens Type Wedges, since I have Polarg Lens Type bulbs in all the other locations.

They were OK for 5W Amber wedges, but not as bright as these LED's. I would estimate these LED's are 3-5X brighter than your standard 5W wedge light bulbs.

Re: 1W LED Mirror Lights

If you don't mind doing a little cutting, these just blow everything I have seen out of the water.

I installed them into my mirrors. It took me about 10mins per mirror as well, it was a lot easier to do then I thought it would be.

When I first lit them up, I thought they might even be too bright.
