Tpms Maintenance??

Hey guys,

I will be changing my tires today after 5 years of having the FJ. Is there any maintenance I can do to the TPMS sensors now so I don't have to remove the tires again in the next few years?

I did a search but did not find anything specific about preventative maintenance for these. Someone said they last 7 years and batteries are not replaceable.

Thanks.

About the only thing I did for assurance was to take clear pics of the sensors while they were out. that way if anything happens to the sensor id registration in the TPMS ecu you have the id#s handy to be re-entered. even though the likely hood of needing to do this happening is rare, generally only user error or TPMS ecu failure would cause this. otherwise you'll have to break down the wheel/tires to retrieve the sensor ids
