These are sealed on the FJ. I have used a needle for my grease gun on other cars in the past with success and cut way down on wear and replacement. No idea why they don't put zerk fittings on vehicles like truck and the FJ type. Are there any contraindications with the FJ with this?
Many cars no longer have the zerk and haven't for years. I had one that had screw in covered but no zerk fillings so I put in zerk fittings.
So I may go ahead and use the needle I have had for years, designed for my grease gun for this purpose but it is lame that they don't have the fittings.
I use the needle every so often on the ball joints.
12+ years still on OEM....looks like it is working.
