Jesmor3's Build Mission: FJ Overlander

History
I remember first seeing the concept FJ Cruiser online and thinking it looked awesome. Two years living in Costa Rica and a degree in engineering later I finally got the opportunity to bring one home.

I kept on top of pricing and the forum for a year and half so I’d be ready to buy when the time came. I bought my 2008 Iceberg TT on July 7th 2012, the day after I sold my 200,000 mile Honda Passport. I love the look of the Iceberg FJs and I also wanted all of the TT extras so I could head out to the trails as soon as possible. This also had to be my daily driver. Some day I'd love to lead a bunch of out-of-staters on a trail out in Moab.

This build is a record keeper for me but I hope it’s half as entertaining as those owners here that have inspired me to dive in with the mods!

As Recieved:
4x4 AT 229HP 4.0L
16" Black Matte TRD Alloy Wheels (TTSE Package)
Toyota Rock Rails (TTSE Package)
Toyota Skid Plates (TTSE Package - Front, Rear, Engine, Transfer Case)
Factory Black Out (TTSE Package)
FJammer Subwoofer
TRD Exhaust System
Toyota Tow Package
Trail Teams Bilstein Shock Absorbers
Dif-Lock and A-Trac
Multi-Information Display
Rear Wiper
BFG Rugged Terrains
Aux lights bumper mounted
Unique Shift Knob
12V 100W & 115V 400W Rear Outlet
Trail Teams Badges
All Weather Mats & Cargo Mat
Toyota OEM Roof Rack
Towing Hitch & Wire Harness

I have a small budget to start out with but don't worry I've got it all planned out! Step one is to encourage the wife to come along on more adventures. We both love the outdoors but I want to provide some form of comfort so my travel companion is happy! As I do more research I fill out pricing and vendors.

Looks Good! You have a very specific plan for the build. I like it. I wonder how much you'll end up deviating from the orginal plan.

Haha I HAVE thought about that, but the plan is still fun for me to make. We'll just have to see, lol!

Re: Jesmor3's Build Mission: FJ Overlander

Looks like a fun build w/ similar goals as my own overland build. I'm a little bit ahead of you but not much. Looking forward to following along on your adventure.

I rode the bottom section of the UT BDR in August. Beautiful! Lots of sand, which is to be expected down here. Let me know if I can answer any questions about Moab as you plan your November trip.
