I have yet to use CRAWL mode. I need to take it out somewhere at some point and let it work

I have used it several times, you can literally get out of your vehicle and watch it do its thing in the lowest setting of crawl control. (GammaBruiser does not condone nor indorse such behaviour behind the wheel or away from it, always use safe vehicle operations practices and obey posted speed limits. Please do not drink and drive.)

When you get in a jam and you're ****ed in the "taking a piss" position and Jeep people are saying "Mall crawler" "what no flex?" "how you gonna get outta that one" I engage the CRAWL feature and that solves that heckling. Worked so far anyway.

Thanks man! I hope I continue to pick things that when they are on, I actually like them still. I am a bit nervous about when I get to picking out new tires. I feel the stock ones look like they are too small for it. How big of a tire can you put on these rims? Photo evidence works great too!

I believe 295s are the largest most people recommend, but some have gone larger. 285s are no problem, and are the norm.

Cheers

Build is looking great so far. Changing the grille surround to black accompanied by the grille guard makes a huge difference. Keep it up!

Thanks @fensterer I was amazed at the change myself. I had seen it on other FJ's but really was taken back after I got it on and then put the guard back on.

Next Upgrade: Passenger Armrest and Power Inverter (to solar?)

Well, it only took me 10 months of asking, why doesn't a 30k dollar vehicle have an arm rest on the passenger side? Also, listening to my wife complain about it for 10 months, along with me complaining when I would ride shotgun, finally bought it and installed it. Took less than 3 minutes. I won't waste thread space with a photo.

However, I will be working on the power inverter soon. I bought the stock outlet for the back cargo space and will be running an aftermarket 400watt inverter soon. That will come in handy for sure. I might do something different than most though. I am thinking of running that power inverter into a solar panel on the roof. Just a thought at this point.

2014 FJ Overland Buildup

Got my complete OEM air dam light kit in the mail today for $99 brand new! I'm going to have Toyota install it for me. I'm a little queasy about cutting the hole in the roof and dropping the headliner down.

Well, I regret taking the FJ to the dealer to install the air dam and lights. They damaged the headliner, the plastic on the interior, and who knows what else. I haven't seen it yet. My wife picked it up. I've made the call to the dealer and sent pics and they are going to replace all the parts that were broken.
