Wyatt recommended to go with the 80w90 because of the ARB air locker. They have had better luck running this weight with the ARB locker.
Understood. It is hot down here in Texas for most of the year, hoping the heavier stuff treats me right.

Re: 07 FJ Cruiser Solid Axle swap Build

Here is a few pictures of the Hydro assist. The FJ sitting next to another FJ with 37's mine has 40's not much difference in height. The final pictures are the FJ next to Wyatt's Tacoma. The FJ has a few minor things to finish up and the Atlas to be installed to be complete. The FJ is headed to FJ summit Wednesday morning.

When you get a chance could you measure the height form the ground to the top of the roofline?
there is a savage FJ around my house and I am toying with the idea of buying it just to do this.
Also, the FJ I am looking at is 2wd from California. I figured since drivelines and transfer case will be replaced it should not matter if I buy a 2wd as a platform. Am I correct?
to the Top of my roof rack is 89 inches I did not measure the actual roof.

Yeah the 2WD should work fine if your changing the transfer case and installing the front solid axle anyway. The only other thing I can think that is different is the computer for 4wd function but that won't be used anyway.

Re: 07 FJ Cruiser Solid Axle swap Build

That looks awesome Sean. Can't wait to see it at the Summit!

For my rear diff with arb locker, ECGS recommended 85W-140. Planning on switching out to Amsoil 75W-90 after breakin.

"...and POOF! he was gone..."

did you see him at the summit?

I suspect that he's spending all of his time out trail running, and has no time now for posting.

OP - Did you consider portal axles instead of the SAS?
Just interested to see if anyone has seriously considered portals on an FJ...
