It didnt really serve any practical purpose and Im sure it would entail additional time and probably additional $$. Since it was interior, I simply taped it off and rattle canned it with less than $6 worth of primer and paint. Looks the same, but without the texture or the added thickness that may have interfered with the door seal, and Im sure would eventually wear away.
I am actually considering having my under armor skid plates done, but Im going to see how they work out with just spraying them with undercoating paint. More concerned about road salt and crud for the upcoming winter than anything. I will have to see how that works out. Front and rear bumpers are definitely on my list though
