Rear bumper wing replacement

By loaning my car to my tenant, I have lost my driver's side rear bumper wing and the inside plastic boomerang-shaped bracket was damaged heavily as well. There is only one slotted tab keeping the remnant from being removed. Upon tugging on it, I think there are two very thin insulated blue wires, maybe 16 gauge, that appear to have been threaded through the slot in the tab, preventing the tab's removal. I don't wish to remove the entire bumper to investigate this, if possible. If these feed my license plate light or driver's side tail light, I don't want to damage them.

Re: Rear bumper wing replacement

There should not be any wires holding the wings on. License lamp is run thru the door. Taillights thru the body behind the paneling.

The bumper removal is a 10 min job.

Re: Rear bumper wing replacement

There are some plastic clips on the backside. You should be able to rip the wing off, breaking the last clip. Easiest would be to remove the bumper I think, to access the backside. Then you'll need new clips and a new wing.

Like Hannibal says, no wires.
