Sorry if that sounded like a jab. Not my intent AT ALL. I was glad you had a good reason, not something negative. BTW do you have lodging lined up for the Summit? I'm going to be releasing my room this week, it's at the Chalet Inn downtown.
Life is full of choices. You made a good one and Mad Hatter, well, he is just MAD!! He will find a way to come back into the fold. We will welcome him with open arms, after we scold him, lol.

I know its early but maybe we need to post a schedule or agenda. An indication of where we are going to meet and what time we plan on starting on the 14th. I am trying to coordinate a few other things in order to make this trip happen.
thanks

That info has been included in the first posting on this thread, which @Moab Junky has been updating all along with any new developments. You can actually see the mentioned parking lot with Google Street view:

I think we should meet at 9 am at the Dewey Bridge. If you are headed North out of Moab, just before you cross the Colorado River bridge you will turn right on Hiway 128. You will follow the river north east for 29 miles. Just before you cross the river you will turn right on a gravel road. From there you will be able to see the remains of the historic Dewey Bridge. ... There is a parking lot that has a vault toilet. We will meet in this lot so that folks can air down and mill about until everyone arrives.

Thanks for posting this.

Excuse my ignorance but how the heck did they take that photo?? I know satellite photos are shot straight over head. Too cool, Yup, that's the vault toilet I mentioned.

As far as starting times go, I mentioned 9 am because it is a distance from Moab, however, this is YOUR trail run. If you guys collectively come up with an earlier time to beat the heat and get more day light, I'm all in.

we are meeting at the Dewey bridge at 8 am, ready to go

It's just the standard Google Street View Car - they will drive it on almost any paved road (which BLM 105 is paved up to the point where the old Dewey Bridge crossed, or at least it was paved at one time). Usually Street View stops any time the road turns to dirt, but I have seen some cases where they will drive the car on dirt roads if they are well-maintained and/or heavily traveled by normal vehicular traffic.

I would personally vote for a slightly earlier start time, but then we are early risers anyway so not that big a deal for us. FYI, we are staying in Spanish Valley, so probably have a little further drive than most other folks.

Ya, you are a ways south. Let's just shoot for an 8 am start, aired down and ready for introductions, a few pics and some strategizing. I think anything earlier would become problematic for this many folks driving from that many different locations. I will see who responds and pm those who have not.

EDIT: We are meeting at the Dewey Bridge at 8 am.

Again, if you cannot make it PLEASE let me know as soon as you know. We will be leaving the parking lot at the Dewey bridge as soon as everyone airs down and snaps a few photos. Please do not feel as though this will be a rushed day, we will take her easy and enjoy the trail. That being said, I have seen large groups dink around, fixing crap, and BS-ing at the trail head long after the scheduled start times, so please get your chores done the night before. Obviously unforeseen things will gladly be taken care of.

@Moab Junky , by chance are you updating the first post to reflect all of the plans we have been making? It will make life a lot easier when I/we need to look all this up again in a month.
