I'm new, and I have 3 questions please

1. How does one post pics on this site.

2. The center instrument cluster on the dash continues to flash the word "compass"which is really annoying out of the corner of my eye.
Does this mean something is wrong with the compass? It seems like it's working correctly.
How do I get it to stop?

3. I can't seem to get my phone to play music via Bluetooth. I've paired the phone, I've set the phone up as the audio player, but then nothing happens. It seems like connectivity though the entire hands free system is really complicated. It also seems like the dealership was more interested in selling me the fj than helping me out with this. I went back yesterday and they pretty much blew me off.

Re: I'm new, and I have 3 questions please

Hello and welcome. I can help with items 1 and 2..

To post pictures, I upload them to Photobucket, and from there, you can link them to the forum. I think you can also upload them directly to the forum as well, but I haven't used that option yet.

The compass needs to be calibrated. You push and hold set, then select your region by number( see owners manual for the diagram of the regions ). Once you choose the region, you will need to drive around in circles for about 30 seconds, until the display shows the temperature and the compass should work. This is all in the owners' manual. Good luck!

Re: I'm new, and I have 3 questions please

I had an HTC phone that wouldn't play music but the hands free phone worked fine, go figure...

Here's the solution I ended up with: iFrogz Auxiliary Audio Cable (Bulk) | A4C.com

Welcome to the forum!

You can also post photos directly from your saved photos by using the "Go Advanced" button when you reply to one. That will lead you to an "Attachment" button. I was able to get my I Phone paired and use it successfully to play music via Bluetooth on my '13, but lost the connection a year later or so and was not able to get it re paired. I went to the dealer and they had to get the one (younger) tech who had a history with making the pairing re connect. The service manager and the other techs admitted that they were not nearly as successful as the one tech was. Maybe try another dealer.

Thanks guys.
I got the compass light to quit flashing.
The other stuff I'm not going to worry about right now.

Re: I'm new, and I have 3 questions please

1) What year?
2) If OEM, and not an FJammer, start by hitting "setup" and deleting all phone pairings.
3) go here.

What size tires will fit on my FJ?

The owner's manual for your FJ is right here. <--- This is a link. Many answers to your questions are contained within.

I agree. Everyone is super helpful.
It looks like the area where I live is right on the line between compass zones 10 and 11, so I guess recalibration will happen frequently. Good to know.
