2011 TTSE Rust check

Hi All - still in search of my FJ and I think I found one that looks pretty promising. 1-owner, clean Carfax, extensive service records at the Toyota dealership where he bought it, mileage is a bit high (130k+), but I'll get to speak to the mechanic who's serviced it its entire life. Only thing I'm really concerned about is the rust - I've asked on the reddit forum for some opinions and thought I'd do the same here so I can get a couple perspectives.

I don't want to it to be a dealbreaker, but I also want to be smart. Thoughts?

That all looks fairly superficial to me and would be easy to wire brush and coat. Is pic 3 the skid? if so best option is to replace it with something thicker than paper anyhow.

IMO - not terrible..but not great for the year.

With a little elbow grease you could get it cleaned up and coated.

Hahahahaha, it most certainly is. I'm doing my due diligence right now and I'm assuming you're the one who he told to wait until he's been done working with me?

Definitely the skid from what I can tell comparing to others' photos.

Re: 2011 TTSE Rust check

Having just looked at TT only from NH to midwest to Louisiana and Seattle, I would stay away. There are easily trucks with 0 rust. Unless you are getting a smoking deal, rust doesn't sleep. Just my .02 turkish lira.
