Hello,

I am new here, bought my FJ in July of 2006, it now has 12,000 miles on it. It's alot of fun and I love it but the things I wish they would change would be the rear visibility, the fluctuating cruise control, the fuel fill angle, and the super thin paint.
I haven't attempted to spray out the interior at all, don't know if I trust doing that yet.
On another note, I want to add a little growl for the intake and try to get better MPG. Outside of a Cold Air Intake such as AFE, Airraid, TRD, or K & N, does anyone have any ideas? Will a K & N or other high performance air filter help?

Thanks,

CJ

Welcome. I concur with your comments about the paint. Compared to my Volvo, the Toyota paint is garbage.

A K&N filter will help, but I've never been impressed with their products (i.e., I doubt you will notice a difference). And I'm not a fan of cold air intakes for the FJ Cruiser (the FJ has plenty of room to breathe under the hood).

My Injen install was a pain because I couldn't get the plastic engine cover back on, but the performance improvement was quite noticeable. If you are willing to risk losing the plastic engine cover, then I would buy an Injen intake in a heartbeat. And if you want some growl, you'll get it.

Good luck!
