I'm starting a new thread. It's called, " I wish _____ part existed." You guys fill in the blank.
Alot of times all it takes is an idea and somebody on here can make it happen. Feel free to continue the discussion and bounce ideas by constructive means. I have a couple ideas for parts but have not gotten around to completing them.
For example, somebody was asking earlier about making a skid plate for the charcoal canister on the rear of our FJC's. I thought it was a pretty good idea so now I'll be working on building some.
I agree that a roll down window in the suicide door would have been nice, but my suggestion for a flip open window was to the area between the "C" and "D" pillar. In the attached photo, it is the window just above the rear tail light. This would have required a redesign by Toyota of the opening (where the non-functioning window in located), and probably the "D" pillar; but this way Toyota could produced a vehicle with complete air flow through the cabin.
One of the main complaints of the FJ is its poor rear visibility. This suggestion wouldn't have improved visibility, but at least with all the windows open (doors and flip windows), it would feel more in touch with nature during an off-road adventure. IMHO
I would love to mount a 30MM Chain Gun with Depleted Uranium Ammo with laser tracking on the hod of my truck so I can vaporizer the idiot who cut in front of me on the freeway [emoji3517]
I wish someone made half-height external mirrors to replace the standard ones, which seriously get in the way of photography, game viewing, etc. (And no need to have running-lights in the mirrors as these are not supplied where I live)
We regularly angle the mirrors forward to present the narrowest cross-section to aid visibility. Replacing them with smaller mirrors would just be more sensible (and safer).
"I wish you could easily retrofit the rear view mirror with the distance lines in the rear camera image from 2012+ TTs to the 2011."
install a navigation head unit that comes with backup camera
I did this to my '08, last year, and not only got backup camera with adjustable lines, also Bluetooth and hands free (and better audio and SD card / iPod USB compatibility, and the most up to date navigation data). Feature-wise, like a brand new car now.
Retro fitting electronic disconnects from other manufactures has been talked about nearly as long as the FJ. If memory serves the location of the FJ's sway bar is the crux of the problem to fitting electronic disconnects.
I wish I could find 3" lift springs rated at 600 lbs. that fit the front shocks on my 2014 TTUE. I believe 3.0 with a 3" lift would be great...
I've looked everywhere... Well, almost.

Thanks!!!
I’ve searched and searched to no avail.
Toytec couldn’t offer any suggestions either.
Stock springs are 14” so a 16” spring should give me a couple inches lift?
TMH
Technically yes, 2" taller might give you around 3" of lift. But I think that is accomplishing the same thing as just adjusting the preload on the 6112's?
Can 2014 TTUE TRD 6112’s be preloaded to increase lift? I think the later ones could but I didn’t think mine could. I was under the impression that new coil overs, lifting springs or spacers were the only choices I had other than a body lift.
Tired of following a vehicle for miles with its turn signal activated?
All cars should be equipped with a turn signal that doubles its clicking volume after 2 minutes (provides enough time to turn at a light or stop sign). That way the person driving is adequately notified that his/her turn signal needs to be turned off. If after another two minutes the driver still hasn't reacted to the blinker, the car should shutdown the radio and all bluetooth devices, and maybe spray water from the center of the steering wheel.
What I’m trying to do is lift my 2014 TTUE to get some 305’s under it without rubbing. Plus looks. I’m an old phart so I need to keep the kids thinking I’m cool. [emoji41]
All FJ’s came with rear headrest standard. It’s just that people tend to remove them to avoid the hassle of doing it every time they want to fold down the rear seats. Then they either get lost or forgotten to be put back with the vehicle when it’s sold. So then the next owner gets a used FJ without headrest. But be certain they all came with them originally. 07-10 have the smaller version that all look the same as the center headrest. 11-14 have the two full size folding headrest with the small center. Unfortunately because so many used FJ’s are sold used without them and they’re $600 for a set from the dealer finding a set used below $250 for 07-10 or $350 for 11-14 is near impossible. When you do it’s because the seller either doesn’t care or doesn’t know how valuable they are.
A central tire inflation / deflation system. ie; Hummer
Deflate pressure to go off road then inflate for on road.
