water leaking from exhaust pipe!!!

hellllp! I see water leaking from somewhere along the exhaust system when I first fire up the truck in the morning!!!

will my SS exhaust systems rust out?

will this water cause any corrosion or rust if it drips on any other metal part of the frame???

Man I`m really nervous and worried that this will break my FJ
helllllp!!!

I mean with the wheel shake, the drive shaft thud, the vibrating shifter and NOW this, it`s time to trade it in and be done with this headache of a rig!

and before you ask, NO I`m not carrying to much weight on my stock suspension!!! and I need every bit of BS I have on my rig and rack!

Re: water leaking from exhaust pipe!!!

pretty sure that's just normal condensate if it's cold out...

my wheel shake disappeared completely when I switched tires

Is this a serious thread or a parody thread?

If serious then it's nothing more than condensation from a cold exhaust and it's normal. It's why they always say to not make short trips without letting the engine come up to operating temperature. If you don't then the condensation will stay in your exhaust and engine where it will cause rust, etc.

Re: water leaking from exhaust pipe!!!

PR, this is from not purging the exhaust correctly in a cold climate, up here just after shutting down the vehicle you need to place your lips over the tail pipe and just blow, this removes the left over moisture from the Catalytic converters.

Seriously.

What gives PR? I would think you should know enough to know that but you didn't post this in Off Topic so I'm not sure what to think here

Re: water leaking from exhaust pipe!!!

I can't help the short trips, work is only 2 miles from home.
I thought I have seen that in summer time too on vehicles, I always thought it was the catalytic converter doing its job.
Water is a normal byproduct of the catalytic converter changing CO to CO2 and water.
So expect your pipes to rust regardless past the cat.
Lead additives (to boost HP) can kill your cats. Also, separation of Ethanol from the gasoline can produce water in the gas tank, which can kill your cats.

Re: water leaking from exhaust pipe!!!

What was the cause of the vibrating shifter? is that the drive gears or the transfer case shifter?
