Re: What does "FJ" stand for?

Hahaha - well in these parts the Jeepers have respect for the 'yotas & Nissans in the desert - they know they can't be touched.
Jeepers are almost exclusively expats and many have set them up for mudding or rock crawling & end up using them as mall crawlers because they look BA there are some nice desert setups done by the likes of Mebar - mostly front axle reinforcement & decent suspension. Nissan (Patrol) are mostly driven by locals. Toyotas (mostly LC150 Prado, LC100, LC200, FJ, Fortuner. Very few LC70 but still available new) are driven by everyone (LC & Hilux pickups are seldom used for recreational offroading - they're work horses).

Re: What does "FJ" stand for?

I really like the Nissan Patrol. I've never driven in one, but I seen them everywhere when I was holidaying in Lebanon 5 years ago. Solid looking rigs to say the least. But I'm just in love with the FJC like no other 4x4.

Yeah the "Batrol" is a bit of a beast - The Y62 is humungous, and all of them have that Japanese solidness & reliability that we know & love.

Re: What does "FJ" stand for?

This fool will have to re-register with a different name when he comes to his senses and buys an FJ..... I doubt he even has a wife, a douche like that couldn't get laid....

With all the previous jeep owners it seems like FJ stands for Former Jeep-owner

[email protected]'Batrol'. It's almost like P=B in that region. Kind of like Poston Bizza.

The Patrols are heavily used there by the military and police, and they look unbreakable. I wonder why they never marketed them in the west? I had an 87 Pathfinder that I absolutely loved, the thing was a tank and I was quite reckless back then and it survived.

I won't call him an idiot, but he really should have thought out his first post a little better before posting it. I'm not sure what he expected posting that here but a different attitude would certainly have yielded better replies.

Hopefully he realizes that the reaction he got isn't a common reaction to most queries on this forum. It's a reaction to his attitude.

OP, change your attitude and the replies will be a little more friendly AND helpful. It's good that you're considering an FJ, and I believe that when you buy one, the Jeep will be one of those memories you look back at and think, ' I can't believe I wasted so much money on...' But until you live with an FJ, you can't know how much better(overall) it REALLY is than any Jeep. I do. Of course, this is JMHO.

We usually welcome new members to the forum, so welcome to the forum, hopefully you'll settle in and enjoy the ride. It really is a good place, with good people trying to help each other because of our love for the FJ.

I like 4x4s in general, and just love the FJ. That's me. If your love is Jeep, that's great as well. I don't limit who I get along with, by the vehicle they love and enjoy. I just enjoy wheelin' and get along with anybody that does too, regardless of what they drive.
