I can't believe I'm asking this but - thoughts on the 2019 Wrangler?
First and foremost I love my FJ, I swore I was going to keep it until the wheels fell off. 2008 with 80k miles on it. Never driven in the winter, always kept in a garage. But, I have a motorhome that I want to tow a vehicle behind. I'm limited to 5,000 lbs for the towed vehicle. The FJ would just make it except mine is an auto (standard is a non-starter due to the Commander in Chief's driving situation) and cannot (according to Toyota) be flat towed on 4 wheels.
So, as much as I hate to admit it I've been thinking about replacing the FJ with a 2 door 2019 Wrangler. 2018 was the first year of the redesign so I don't want one of them. The Heep, excuse me, Jeep can be flat towed with an auto transmission and it's well under my weight limit.
Anybody have any firsthand experience with the new Wrangler or if you want to admit to it, any friends with one and what are they saying? I haven't reached the visit the dealer level yet, just thinking about options at this point. Buying a small vehicle just to tow isn't an option, I don't want the extra insurance, taxes, etc. for a spare vehicle. I want something that will be my daily driver as well as a toad.
