If limited availability is an OK thing for the TJ, how about a limited run of say 5 or 10k FJs down the 4runner line. Repeat every time they sell out.
'I'm In' for that.
This is a great idea. I could go for a 2020 FJ Cruiser.

Not much of a successor if it can't drive over a curb and it shares its name with Jeep. JMO

There will never be a minivan in my driveway. I won`t even let a delivery minivan park in front of my house

Re: TJ Cruiser to be released as FJ successor?

They need to remove "cruiser" from the name, this vehicle shares nothing with the fj/land cruiser lineage.

LOLOLOL....

Successor?

Looks like some Mom with 3 kids designed this thing. Just what the planet needs - another fun sucking minivan...

There is a reason FJ 40s, 60's and 80s keep being reworked and cost more every year...

Now that the Scion brand is gone, Toyota has a problem appealing to younger, active types who find the RAV4 boring but who also can't afford a 4Runner yet.

It's the same crowd that they targeted with the FT-4X concept last year. Hip urban types who think "AWD" means "4x4" and who will push their vehicle to haul their mountain bikes just as far as all their friends driving Subaru CrossTrek's. And at some point they'll reach their 30's, get married, have kids, want to get away from the crowds, realize that what they really need is a 4Runner, then upgrade. To a 4Runner.
