Bitter sweet going through all those old photos!
Driving my FJC still puts a smile on my face like my old FJ40 did.

An even closer look reveals IRS and IFS too. Aqualu makes their own aluminum bodies and tubs too. Looks like a company truck. I like those extra wide fenders. It has BC plates so probably.

Yeah, it was definitely the company truck... assuming they made the trek down there for Easter Jeep Safari. Saw a couple insane Jeep builds with BC plates too, probably theirs as well.

They did make the trip and it's For Sale. There's also an FJ80 body for sale.

$85k seems like a bargain compared to the price tag of the Icon FJ44 that's on display at the Land Cruiser museum... Granted, the Icon isn't for sale, but I think the price hovers around $200-$250k

Re: Vintage Cruisers

When I was in college I had a 1984 Mitsubishi Montero and made a friend who had a 1978 (If I remember right) FJ40 with ambulance doors. It was blue, had the cylinder head gasket problem fixed and was a little rough if I'm honest. We would hit some trails every other weekend and I was always amazed at what that 40 was capable of. It was blue and white and when the FJC was released I was bound and determined to get a voodoo blue, manual (because auto's are for old men. now that i'm an old man....) and eventually chop the top.
Reading about the original FJ's and seeing the photos is really great! They've brought back some fun memories. Thanks for posting!
