4X4 Black Diamond Tour

Greg, our AAT ranger will be hosting a black diamond tour this Saturday (11/8). Here's his email:

Quote:
I will be hosting a black diamond tour on Saturday, November 8th. We have several most difficult roads that we are responsible to maintain and patrol. It's been a while since we've had an 'official presences' on these routes.

Meeting at the Discovery Center in Big Bear at 0830, we'll start with a driver's meeting. We'll be discussing the days itinerary and safety issues we will be encountering during the day on the trail (including sizing up an abandoned vehicle on 3N03A). From there, we will be negotiating these back country routes;

3N10 John Bull (east only)-High Moderate (Blue)

3N61 Jacoby Canyon-Moderate (Blue)

3N03A Horsethief Flats-Most Difficult (Black Diamond)

2N61Y Round Valley Trail-High Moderate (Blue)

2N61YB Pontiac Sluice-Most Difficult (Black Diamond)

2N70Y Cottonwood Loop-Most Difficult (Black Diamond)

2N90 Tip Top Mountain-High Moderate (Blue) Optional

2N86 Onyx Spur-Most Difficult (Black Diamond)

I'll be posting more details before Saturday! Stay tuned!

Thank you,

Greg.

Not too far away!

Re: 4X4 Black Diamond Tour

I think there will be several trail leaders. I'll post up more details as they come in. He posted this kind of suddenly.

Re: 4X4 Black Diamond Tour

Decisions decisions! I can't make it to Pismo, but I can try and make these! I really want to check out Horse Thief and Pontiac Sluice. So many of those trails are new to me. What should I do if want to go? Start spinning my youngest one so he gets use to motion sickness and hopefully get over it?

Btw, Horse Thief is one of the trails available for adoption.
